StatusCore

Self-hosted uptime monitoring, incident management and status pages for HTTP services.

StatusCore system cover

Overview

StatusCore is a self-hosted monitoring platform for public HTTP and HTTPS services. Background workers execute health checks, persist service state and incidents, deliver notifications and provide historical uptime and latency analytics. The platform also supports maintenance windows, manual incident communication and public status pages while keeping internal monitoring targets, notification endpoints and operational data out of public responses.

Architecture

StatusCore architecture: Next.js frontend, NestJS API, PostgreSQL, Redis and BullMQ workers

Engineering

Monitoring and notification delivery run through separate background queues so network calls do not block committed state transitions. Automatic incidents are persisted transactionally, with database constraints enforcing a single unresolved automatic incident per monitor. User-configured network targets are validated against SSRF risks using DNS validation, blocked address ranges and pinned outbound connections. Notification endpoints are encrypted at rest and delivery retries are persisted independently from queue retries.
